Las Vegas Launches Playful New “Pack For Vegas” Campaign

The New Ads, from Director Jody Hill, Celebrate the Pre-Trip Rituals That Turn Anticipation into Entertainment.

Visit Las Vegas today debuts six new “Pack for Vegas” campaign spots by acclaimed filmmaker Jody Hill, celebrating the hilarious, unpredictable energy that begins long before visitors arrive. Rolling out across broadcast, streaming, and social, the comedic 15-second spots capture a universal truth that packing for Las Vegas isn’t just preparation; it’s part of the adventure.

“Las Vegas is the ultimate summer getaway because there’s excitement around every part of the experience, even before you arrive,” said Kate Wik, Chief Marketing Officer for Visit Las Vegas. “The new ‘Pack for Vegas’ campaign taps into that anticipation and imagination that takes over when people start planning their trip. These spots are playful, unexpected and unmistakably Vegas.”

Directed by Jody Hill (HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones”, “Eastbound & Down” and “Vice Principals”), each of the six ads capture the moment ordinary trip preparation spirals into pure Vegas energy. The campaign marks a return to the bold, cheeky humor associated with Las Vegas advertising. It channels the same irreverent spirit that made “What Happens Here, Stays Here™” a cultural phenomenon.

  • “Tarot Reading” – A tarot card reader warns a woman that “questionable choices” are in her future. She’s thrilled.
  • “Virtual Therapy” – A woman asks her therapist to weigh in on an important pre-Vegas decision, what to wear.
  • “Security” – An airport agent’s facial expressions shift from concerned to approving while reviewing a traveler’s carry-on.
  • “Dancing Pants” – A woman auditions silver leather pants with progressively more aggressive nightclub moves.
  • “Thrift Store” – A man practices pickup lines in a thrift store using a confusing question: “Do you like shrimp?” A nearby shopper is all-in.
  • “Check Out”– Two women unload a grocery cart filled with increasingly suspicious Vegas-trip essentials.

The “Pack for Vegas” campaign launches alongside a blockbuster summer lineup filled with only-in-Vegas experiences. Beginning June 6, the destination will light up with eight consecutive Saturdays of fireworks designed and produced by Fireworks by Grucci, alongside major entertainment residencies including No Doubt and Backstreet Boys at Sphere, Kelly Clarkson at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and Mary J. Blige and New Kids on the Block at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The summer calendar also features global stadium tours from BTS, Ed Sheeran, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC and Karol G at Allegiant Stadium, plus nonstop day-to-night events across the destination.
