Jacinta McGlynn (Travelbiz) continues her amazing Thailand tour.

Tourism Authority of Thailand coordinated various groups on the Post Fam Tour and dispatched us to various parts of this wondrous country. Our Group Leader, the fearless and intrepid Joanna Cooke (Departure PR TAT) led a great bunch on a super itinerary. Our days (and nights!) have been packed with unique activities and experiences. Thrilled to discover areas of the beautiful country that are lesser known is a dream come true and is a key strategy with TAT for 2023 and beyond. Named Hub and Hook, the clever idea is to match an already well-known destination such as Chang Mai in the north to latch on to another two less commercialised zones. So we had the privilege of travelling to the Province of Nan and Phrae, both close to Laos and Myanmar. The beauty of the area was unsurpassed only by the pride and passion of the locals who are keeping traditions alive and actually bringing their generationally inherited skills back to life. Eager to preserve their heritage and culture, we witnessed and joined in on some unique activities. A visit to Cocoa Valley was a marvellous insight into the chocolate industry. The enthusiasm of Manoon Thanawang and his wife was infectious and really heart-warming to see how they’ve built a thriving business and given employment to locals in the area. We even went to Doi Silver factory and showrooms and I believe the local economy may have been boosted as a result! Don’t forget to tune in later for a peek at our antics in Phrae where we visit Temples, 7-Elevens and even try our hand at tie-dyeing!
