Horizon Irish Open with Emirates at the K Club

#Traveltradetogether

As official partner of the Horizon Irish Open 2023, Emirates kindly invited Travelbiz to the K Club in Straffan, Co. Kildare on Friday Sept. 8th to join in the excitement of a world class golfing event.

Jacinta from Travelbiz enjoyed this brilliant opportunity to walk the course, follow the wonderful professionals and witness golf that you secretly wish you played yourself! At the DP World Tour tournament, it was thrilling to watch legendary golf heroes show their skill. Emirates hosted all day refreshments and a delightful lunch, served with generosity and panache. As guest of Anita Thomas (Country Manager Ireland) and her terrific team (Lisa, Olwen & Filippo) at Emirates, it was a great day of viewing golf and enjoying lots of fun throughout the day.

Overlooking the 18th green, we had a birdie’s eye view of proceedings. The pride and excitement of seeing our own Rory Mc Ilroy, Shane Lowry, Mark Power and Padraig Harrington, together with other world rankers like John Rahm (Spain), Alexander Bjork (Sweden), Min Woo Lee (Aus) and Adrian Meronk (Poland) was simply stupendous. Hushed murmurs from the crowds thronging the emerald green slopes and packed viewing platforms added to the electric ambiance as we followed our heroes to offer encouragement and applaud when a ball was holed. Roars from the crowd were deafening when Rory and Shane walked towards the greens and with 9 Irish players on the field, excitement was rife. As one would expect, tee shots, fairway shots and putting (even the odd clamber from a bunker!) were sights to behold.

A day of superb golf, the K Club course in pristine condition, glorious sunshine (in fact, sizzling temperatures!) and great camaraderie with Emirates – what more could a body ask for? Thank you to Anita and all the team at Emirates for excellent and generous hospitality. What a great day! The Irish Open is worth c 300 million euro to the economy, it was important to get this event right. The organization was superb and the Gardai, giving instructions and directing traffic, were unfailingly polite, cheerful and courteous. Well done K Club and huge thanks again to Emirates, official partner of the Horizon Irish Open 2023.
