Etihad Showcases B787 Dreamliner Experience for Irish Trade at Dublin Airport

Peter O’Hanlon, Sales Director of Travelbiz and Travelfinders, joined Shauna Fitzgerald, Etihad Airways Ireland Sales Executive, along with key Irish trade partners for an exclusive Boeing 787 Dreamliner experience at Dublin Airport.

The special industry event offered agents and partners the opportunity to experience first-hand the onboard product currently operating on Etihad’s Dublin–Abu Dhabi service.

Warm Welcome at Dublin Airport

The evening commenced in the popular Martello Lounge, where guests were welcomed by the Dublin Airport team including Edel Redmond, Michelle Reilly and Darragh. The relaxed networking reception provided an ideal setting for trade partners to connect before proceeding airside to board the aircraft ahead of its scheduled departure to Abu Dhabi.

Exploring the Etihad Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Guests were invited onboard Etihad’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a key aircraft in the airline’s global fleet and a vital part of its Irish operation.

The aircraft offers a strong balance of comfort, efficiency and modern cabin design:

  • Business Class – 1-2-1 Configuration
  • Direct aisle access for every passenger
  • Fully flat beds
  • Spacious seating with enhanced privacy
  • Premium dining and inflight service

The 1-2-1 layout ensures a competitive long-haul business class product for the Irish market, appealing to both corporate and premium leisure travellers.

Economy Class – 3-3-3 Configuration

  • Ergonomically designed seating
  • Generous legroom
  • Larger electronically dimmable windows
  • Improved cabin pressure and humidity levels

The Dreamliner’s cabin technology is designed to reduce passenger fatigue on long-haul journeys, enhancing overall comfort from Dublin to Abu Dhabi and onwards.

Connectivity from Dublin via Abu Dhabi

Etihad’s Dublin service provides seamless connections through Abu Dhabi to an extensive global network across:

  • The Middle East
  • Asia
  • The Indian Subcontinent
  • Australia
  • Selected African destinations

The route remains an important long-haul option for the Irish market, offering competitive onward connectivity for both leisure and corporate travellers.

Sustainability Focus

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is one of the most fuel-efficient widebody aircraft in operation, delivering reduced emissions and improved environmental performance. This aligns with Etihad Airways’ broader sustainability commitments and is increasingly relevant for corporate travel programmes and environmentally conscious travellers.

Strengthening Trade Partnerships

The event highlighted Etihad’s continued commitment to the Irish travel trade and reinforced the strong partnership between the airline and Dublin Airport.

For Irish agents, experiencing the onboard product first-hand provides valuable insight when recommending the airline to clients travelling long-haul from Dublin.
