daa International appointed as strategic and operational partner for Gia Binh International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam

daa International, the global airports management, consulting and investment arm of daa, the operator of Dublin and Cork airports, has been appointed as strategic and operational partner for Gia Binh International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, one of the country’s most significant new aviation infrastructure projects.

Mr Vũ Hoàng Long, CEO of Masterise Aviation Infrastructure JSC, with Mr Clive Power, Deputy CEO of daa International at the ceremonial contact signing in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The appointment follows a strategic partnership between Masterise Aviation Infrastructure Joint Stock Company and daa International, combining Masterise’s integrated development capability with daa International’s 85 years’ experience in the planning, delivery and operation of airports across Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region.

Gia Binh International Airport in under construction 40 kilometres from Hanoi and forms part of a wider vision for the continued economic growth and development of Vietnam and the Gia Binh district. The airport is planned to have a capacity of up to 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tonnes of cargo per year by 2030, with a long term ambition to reach 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tonnes of cargo by 2050.

Designed to meet 5 star international standards and benchmarked against leading global airports, Gia Binh International Airport is intended to become a flagship aviation, trade and logistics hub, supported by modern operational systems, a strong commercial offering and extensive global connectivity.

Under the partnership, daa International will work closely with Masterise Aviation Infrastructure to support the development and day-to-day operation of the airport. This will include input across key areas such as airport development planning, certification and regulatory readiness, operational concept design, commercial strategy, operational readiness and airport management.

The approach will combine international best practice with local knowledge, ensuring long term delivery that reflects Vietnamese expertise, culture and operational requirements. The project also reflects the strong and growing relationship between Ireland and Vietnam, with Gia Binh International Airport expected to act as a catalyst for deeper collaboration across aviation, transport, education, innovation, infrastructure and enterprise.
