Columbia here we come

#Traveltradetogether

Jacinta (Travelbiz) was privileged to join her Excellency Sra Patricia Cortes, Colombia’s Ambassador to Ireland, for lunch at her splendid residence in Dublin recently. Her beautiful home is a fitting venue to display the wonders and delights that Colombia offers the lucky visitor. A lunch of local delicacies (think empanadas and torta tres leches) in fun company and learning interesting facts about the country, showed true Colombian hospitality.

Dispel any previous notions you might have about Colombia because the country can stand with the best in terms of biodiversity, incredible ecosystem and awesome nature. Colombia claims two great oceans – Atlantic and Pacific – and showcases beaches, vertiginous mountain peaks, Amazonian jungle territory, rainforests, mangroves, desert area, heritage sites, amazing history and architecture.

That’s not even touching upon the indigenous communities and pride in their unique culture. In addition, imagine the coffee, music (salsa marimba and sampler), dance and urban art. A paradise for bird watching, Colombia is 1st in the world for bird diversity, ensuring an extraordinary destination for the tourist. Doubtless, Colombia is a treasure trove of natural wealth in South America. Grateful thanks to Juliana, Andres and Her Excellency Sra Patricia Cortes for whetting my appetite for Colombia. I can’t wait to go!
