Coast to Coast: Air Canada takes-off into summer resuming Vancouver flights and boosting Dublin capacity

#Traveltradetogether

Air Canada flights between Dublin and Vancouver resumed this weekend and will operate up to five times per week this summer.

The route will also run for an extended period of time, from May to October, with extra weekly frequencies also added.

This follows the pause of Dublin Airport’s passenger cap allowing the airline to expand its connectivity across the Atlantic.

Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline and flag carrier, took off into summer this weekend, relaunching its popular seasonal service between Dublin and Vancouver.

The route resumption comes as Air Canada gears up for one of its busiest ever transatlantic schedules, boasting nearly 50 routes between Europe and Canada, including three from Dublin Airport.

Air Canada’s first flight of the season, AC919, departed from Dublin Airport on Sunday 4 May, arriving into Vancouver International Airport just nine hours later*.

To mark the annual resumption of this important route, Air Canada has announced a further capacity increase on the route, in addition to the existing capacity increase announced in February of this year, owing to increased demand for travel to British Columbia.

The news comes following the announcement that Dublin Airport’s passenger cap has been temporarily suspended, allowing the global airline to operate additional flights to the must-see city of Vancouver.

The new bumper schedule means that Irish customers travelling to the Canadian metropolis can choose from up to five weekly flights, an increase from three in previous years.

Irish customers are also in luck with the airline extending the operating season of the route, from the originally planned June to September, to the extended season of May to October, allowing even more customers the chance to get a taste of Canada.

While the previously announced peak schedule of five weekly flights was planned for June to September, today’s news confirms that customers can benefit from five weekly flights all the way through to mid-October.

As the only airline to fly between Dublin and British Columbia, these extra flights are designed to give Irish customers easy access to one of the country’s finest regions, boasting unspoilt scenery, cultural landmarks, and a thriving arts scene.

Bláithín O’Donnell, Air Canada Sales Manager, Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our service between Dublin and Vancouver this summer, in response to growing demand for travel to Canada.

“We have slowly been increasing capacity throughout the year, in line with customer demand, but as the first flight of the season departed Dublin this weekend, we wanted to further strengthen our commitment to the market, by upping frequencies throughout the autumn.

“Whether Irish customers are traveling for business, leisure, or to visit friends and family across the Atlantic, customers can benefit from a seamless transatlantic experience with Air Canada.”

Customers looking to cross the Atlantic in style can enjoy flights operated by the airline’s state-of-the-art 787 Dreamliner fleet, featuring lie-flat seats in Signature Class, and spacious Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

Those looking to satisfy their wanderlust can enjoy return fares from Dublin to Vancouver from only €593 in Economy, including taxes and charges**.

Renowned for its natural scenic beauty, thriving tech scene and vibrant culture, Vancouver offers a perfect summer getaway for Irish customers looking for an accessible alternative to the US.

The increase in capacity also complements Air Canada’s existing flight connections to popular destinations outside of Canada. With seamless connections through hubs in Montreal and Toronto, customers can score savings to popular destinations such as Punta Cana, San Jose, Mexico City and Cancun, which are unserved from Ireland.

Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft features three cabins of service for customers to choose from, including Signature Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy and Economy Class. The airline’s complimentary and extensive in-flight entertainment programming features more than 1,400 hours of movies, 1,900 hours of television shows and more than 600 hours of music and podcasts and where available, live tv is available at every seat. The award-winning IFE also features collaborations with Apple TV+, Audible, Disney+, Hayu, and others, bringing hours of movies, tv episodes, specialty channels, music albums, other video and audio content and games in multiple languages from boarding to landing.
