CLIA announces Hall of Fame 2024 inductees
Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) UK & Ireland has revealed its latest Hall of Fame recipients. The honours were announced today (December 18, 2024), at CLIA’s annual Winter Ball, and awarded to:
- Alison Earnshaw, World Travel Holdings
- Peter Shanks, Silversea
Alison Earnshaw is managing director of World Travel Holdings UK and responsible for operations and functions across their three UK cruise brands – Cruise 118, Six Star Cruises and RiverVoyages. She has worked in the travel industry for more than 20 years and in cruise for 14 years.
Peter Shanks spearheads Silversea’s growth and expansion in the UK as managing director for UK, Ireland, the Middle East and Africa. He was previously with Carnival Corporation for 15 years, latterly as president of Cunard. Peter also has extensive retail experience gained as managing director of Going Places and commercial director of Thomas Cook.
The awards were presented on behalf of the industry by Lynn Narraway and Giles Hawke, at an 80s themed event.
In addition, industry recognition awards were presented to:
- Sara Macefield, journalist
- Nicki Tempest Mitchell, Barrhead
- Jamie Loizou, AmaWaterways

The CLIA Hall of Fame was launched in 2022. Awards are presented at the CLIA Winter Ball.
