Celebrating 75 years of Club Med

Nicolas Bresch (MD of Club Med UK & Ireland) hosted a reception for a select group of travel writers, including Declan Mescall (Features Editor Travelbiz) in the salubrious surroundings of the Presidential Suite of Dublin’s Conrad Hotel to celebrate 75 years of Club Med. Nicolas was accompanied by Marc Lauret (Head of Sales Trade (B2B) and Meetings & Events) and Richard De Villa (Marketing Director, UK, Ireland and Nordics).

Club Med was the inventor of all inclusive holidays in 1950 and today boasts 70 family and couples friendly resorts globally across 40 countries.

As it continues its pioneering all inclusive concept it is reinventing its formula for happiness . In the words of the founder “The purpose of life is to be happy. The place to be happy is here. And the time to be happy is now. ” Next year will see the introduction of Club Med’s first Beach and Safari Resort in South Africa. 2026 will also see the opening of their resort in Borneo and in 2028 the first Club Med property in the Middle East will open in Oman.

In four weeks time I will be going on a press trip to two Club Med resorts in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic so stay tuned to Travelbiz for all the buzz.
