Expert-led sailings with Uniworld
Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is announcing a series of exclusive expert-led cruises taking place in March and April 2022, which are now available for travel agents to sell.
The cruises, which feature celebrities and experts such as opera singer Russell Watson, Michelin-starred Chef and Masterchef presenter Marcus Wareing and sportsman, presenter and winemaker Sir Ian Botham, are exclusive to Uniworld and are not available to purchase through the Uniworld website.

Russell Watson on Venice and the Gems of Northern Italy, 3 April 2022
Guests on this Spring sailing of Uniworld’s Venice and the Gems of Northern Italy itinerary, on board the new Super Ship La Venezia, will be joined by world renowned Tenor, Russell Watson. The itinerary will showcase the highlights of the city and its lesser-known surrounding islands, including a private visit to St Mark’s Basilica after dark when the crowds have gone, as well as a visit to the Doge’s Palace and a gondola making shipyard. Russell will host special events on board as well as performing a live concert in the heart of Venice, exclusively for Uniworld guests.

Sir Ian Botham and Matt Tebbutt on Brilliant Bordeaux, 27 March 2022
Cultural treasures, history and heritage, and food and wine are at the heart of this seven-night sailing along the Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne rivers aboard the Super Ship Bon Voyage, taking in Bordeaux, Fort Médoc, Cadillac, Blaye, Libourne and more.
The special guest on this departure is one of England’s best loved sportsmen – broadcaster and wine producer, Sir Ian Botham – who will also be joined by celebrity chef and host of BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Matt Tebbutt. This French cruise sails from Avignon to Lyon on an exploration of the region’s famous wines and cuisine from the comfort and luxury of the Super Ship Catherine. Hosted by multi-Michelin-starred chef and Masterchef: The Professionals judge and mentor, Marcus Wareing, alongside broadcaster and wine expert, Oz Clarke, the region will be brought to life with a series of exclusive events such as a private wine tasting, cooking demonstrations and a guided tour of Lyon food market where Marcus will showcase the fresh, local and seasonal produce on offer.

NEW Itineraries Floriade 2022 on the NEW Dutch Delight itinerary with Uniworld
Floriade 2022 will take place in Almere, just outside Amsterdam, and guests on select departures of Uniworld’s Dutch Delight cruise (and a number of other Uniworld departures that take in Amsterdam) will have the opportunity to experience it. The Dutch Delight not only includes tickets to the once-every-ten-years horticultural extravaganza, it also includes a walking tour of the resort town of Lemmer, a bike ride on the beach near the town of Veere, a ‘village day’ in the Netherlands oldest city Nijmegen and guided exploring of Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Cruise and Rail – Enchanting Danube with the Castles of Transylvania (12 days)
This trip combines a seven-night cruise on the opulent Super Ship Maria Theresa from Passau to Budapest with a luxurious four-night journey on the Golden Eagle Danube Express through Romania, exploring the mystique and beauty of Dracula-country.
Highlights of the cruise include biking or hiking along the river in Passau, a visit to Melk Abbey, a private evening concert in Vienna featuring the work of Strauss and Mozart (part of Uniworld’s new Nights Out programme), a foodie tour of Budapest and a number of Uniworld’s signature Make Travel Matter experiences, including a visit to a local, organic cider farm for a tasting and lunch in Linz and meeting a local producer of biodynamically certified saffron in the Wachau valley, learning about the spice and how it’s sustainably produced, alongside tastings of the delicacies produced, such as red-wine-and-saffron chocolate.
In Budapest, guests will then embark on to the Golden Eagle Danube Express where their service will continue with a dedicated Uniworld representative, and some Uniworld touches such as favourites from Uniworld’s menus. Explorations on this part of the journey include a visit to the 13th-century town of Sibiu, a walking tour of Sighișoara (rumoured birthplace of Dracula), and a private visit to the beautiful 14th century Bran Castle, popularly known as Dracula’s Castle, situated amongst stunning mountain scenery.
Prices for this 12-day itinerary start from €10,099pp and include all-inclusive accommodation on board, airport transfers and a full programme of excursions as per the itinerary.
Other new cruise and rail itineraries include Milan to Venice and then on to Istanbul by train, which features the new SS La Venezia in Venice.

Great News from Brian Hynes as Uniworld Boutique River Cruises announces its new brochure for 2022/23 to the Irish market.
The 68-page brochure, available digitally and in print to trade, features three new expert-led European cruises, a new Dutch Delight cruise (including the infamous Floriade festival), and a host of new cruise and rail packages in Europe, in partnership with Golden Eagle Trains.

Roberts currently Vice President Princess Cruises UK and Europe, will join Seabourn from 1 March 2022 and will lead revenue management; deployment; revenue forecasting; planning and analytics for the Seabourn brand globally. He will be based in the UK but will report to Josh Leibowitz (Seabourn President).
Current Lynn Narraway (Holland America Line & Seabourn UK & Ireland Managing Director) will become totally dedicated to Seabourn with an expanded role to include responsibility for Europe. Lynn will report to Tony Roberts as part of the new commercial organisation.
Nico Bleichrodt (Holland America Line Vice President International Sales) will continue to report to Gus Antorcha (President Holland America Line) and takes on added responsibility for Holland America Line’s sales in the UK.
As part of the new structure, Sean Brennan Seabourn Vice President Product Management & Development) will be appointed head of commercial planning and strategy, reporting into Tony Roberts. Sean will lead commercial planning; analytics; fuel optimisation; revenue forecasting and the relationship with the Holland America Group revenue shared services.
Commenting on the appointment, Josh Liebowitz (Seabourn President) said: “I’ve been impressed with Tony’s leadership of Princess in the UK and Europe and I’m excited that he is joining the Seabourn family as we add our expedition ships to the fleet. Tony will bring a wealth of commercial and global sourcing experience to the Seabourn team. The UK is the second largest market for Seabourn and represents an important growth area. We are extremely excited to have Tony and Lynn together in the UK to continue to grow the Seabourn opportunity”.

Celebrity Cruises launches ‘Race to Beyond’ campaign, with 20 more rooms up for grabs on Celebrity Beyond!
Celebrity Cruises has announced its latest ‘Race to Beyond’ campaign, giving as many agents as possible the chance to be among the first to soak up the new-luxury experience on the highly-anticipated Celebrity Beyond.
Five winners will be announced weekly on the Celebrity Cruises’ UK and Ireland Agents Facebook page throughout the month and Travelbiz.ie
