New Routes to Australia and Sri Lanka

We have announced a significant planned expansion to our network for winter 2026, with the addition of two new destinations, Melbourne in Australia and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

From 09th January 2027, British Airways will launch a new route to Melbourne in Australia. Flights will operate year -round from London Heathrow, via Kuala Lumpur, daily.

Melbourne, Australia’s cultural and commercial capital, pairs a thriving business ecosystem with world-class dining, arts and events, making it a standout destination for both corporate and leisure travellers. Melbourne is a dynamic hub with excellent connectivity, premium accommodation and effortless access to key business districts.

Beginning 23rd October 2026, we will launch a new route from London Gatwick to Colombo (CMB), Sri Lanka for the winter 2026 season. The service will operate three times a week.

Colombo, Sri Lanka’s vibrant coastal capital, is an inspiring gateway for both leisure and corporate travel. With seamless connectivity, premium accommodation options and a dynamic commercial hub, Colombo offers exceptional opportunities to elevate our customers’ travel experience.
