Best4Travel Acquires Skytours

Independent travel company expands to 13 outlets.

Best4Travel has announced the acquisition of Skytours, the long-established travel agency based on Talbot Street, Dublin. The deal marks a significant expansion for Best4Travel, increasing its retail footprint to 13 outlets across Ireland as the company accelerates its growth strategy heading into 2026 and beyond.

Founded by John Bergin, Skytours has built a strong reputation for bespoke holidays and personalised service. As part of the agreement, John Bergin will retain ownership of Golfbreaks.ie, the specialist golf-travel division he founded, while Best4Travel assumes ownership of the Skytours leisure business and DiscountTravel.ie. John will also act as an advisor during the transition and integration phase.

All existing Skytours staff will remain in place, ensuring continuity for customers and maintaining the expertise developed over more than three decades.

Best4Travel is an Irish-owned company, employing nearly 60 staff nationwide. The business continues to grow across its core markets, including USA & Canada travel, luxury holidays, cruises and guided touring; and is investing heavily in technology through the development of its in-house operating platform “Bestie” and a suite of new consumer websites.

We are delighted to welcome Skytours into the Best4Travel Group”  Jeff Collins, Best4Travel Managing Director, commented

“Skytours has been a trusted name in Irish travel for more than three decades, and this acquisition strengthens our nationwide presence while enhancing the service we provide to customers. As we look toward 2026 and beyond, we remain committed to investing in our people, our systems and the experiences our customers rely on.”

John Bergin, Founder of Skytours, said “After many years building the Skytours brand, I am pleased to see the business move to a company that shares the same commitment to customer service and innovation. Best4Travel is the right partner to guide Skytours into its next chapter, and I am confident the team and customers are in very good hands. I look forward to continuing to focus on developing Golfbreaks.ie, while watching Skytours continue to grow under new leadership. I have really enjoyed working with Jeff during our negotiations and I know with his vision that the business will flourish”

This strategic acquisition reinforces Best4Travel’s long-term vision for expansion, digital transformation and exceptional customer service across the Irish travel industry.
