AWTE Ireland (Association of Women Travel Executives) were delighted to welcome the women of the Irish Travel Industry on the roof top terrace of Hyde in Dublin City last night.

The new committee made up of Ciara Foley, Katrina McMullen, Jan Lyons, Allie Sheehan, Annette McCann, Josie Carrigy, Roisin Carbery, Susan Maxwell, Donna Kenny, Ann-Marie Durkin, and Valerie Murphy, hosted a great event showcasing all the benefits that AWTE can offer while enjoying some great food and refreshments.

Ciara Foley (Chair) did a short presentation about AWTE, which is all about promoting and developing the careers of women in the travel industry in Ireland.

She reiterated how important it is that women invest in themselves both personally and professionally so they can develop their own brand. She explained that AWTE can help women value themselves in all areas of their lives whilst networking and building confidence in others around them. They are really encouraging all women to join up so they can benefit from all the activities planned. Some of the events highlighted for the year ahead are.

  • Stress Management and Resilience
  • Branding – Personal and Professional
  • Time Management and Productivity
  • Sound Bath – a meditative experience bathed in sound waves.
  • Networking
  • Learn to play Golf with lunch & prosecco.
  • Return of The Interview Series and lunchtime sessions
  • Fashion & Style evening – how to dress for work and play.
  • Christmas Lunch 1st December 2023
  • IWD 2024

Clare Dunne, Travel Broker recently appointed as CEO of ITAA, was in attendance. She was congratulated on her new role by the committee who said how proud they were to see “one of their own” from AWTE chosen for the prestigious role. Clare explained that the AWTE had done so much for her own skillset and how she grew in confidence by being with her AWTE counterparts since co-founding it in 2017.

The three “E’s” of AWTE are Educate, Encourage and Empower. A great motto for all women in travel!
