Art and Soul to bring 350 works to five-star Cork resort

#Traveltradetogether

Ireland’s biggest art and sculpture event, featuring over 350 works, is set to return to Cork’s five-star Castlemartyr resort.

Art and Soul, featuring works by Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Banksy, Julian Opie, and Salvador Dali, will be hosted by Gormleys from June 1 – 29, showcasing the biggest names in international and Irish art.

The free event will feature a major outdoor exhibition of 90 large sculptures and installations set throughout the 220-acre grounds of the 18th-century manor estate.

Over 70 smaller, more intimate sculptures will also be on display inside the hotel.

Exhibiting sculptors include Patrick O’Reilly, Ian Pollock, Eamonn Ceannt, Giacinto Bosco, Bob Quinn, Paddy Campbell, Sandra Bell and John Fitzgerald, amongst many more.

There will also be several internationally acclaimed sculptors on display this year that have never been seen before at Art and Soul, such as Michael Ayrton, Philip Jackson, Sophie Ryder, Matteo Lo Greco and Lorenzo Quinn.

This will be the twelfth major art and sculpture event hosted by Gormleys, and the third time the event has appeared at the southern resort.

“Art and Soul gives art lovers a unique opportunity to view these incredible works of art in the beautiful surroundings of Castlemartyr,” said Oliver Gormley of Gormleys.

“Adults and children will enjoy the event equally, and our previous events in The K Club, Russborough, and the Culloden Hotel attracted over 10,000 visitors.”

During Art and Soul, Castlemartyr Resort is offering special rates for overnight stays and Champagne afternoon tea.

Featuring a programme of exclusive artists’ talks with daily guided tours, guests can avail of the Art + Soul Visit & Stay package

“Castlemartyr Resort is the perfect background for its arts-centric summer, with its rich history and impressive grounds dating back to the 13th century,” said Brendan Comerford, General Manager of the resort.

“We are looking forward to welcoming guests and visitors to celebrate the extensive programme of artworks, talks, tours and musical performances that will take place.”

During the event, there will be a programme of artists’ talks and daily guided tours.

Art and Soul, which runs from June 1 – 29, will be open to the public daily from 11am–7pm, with guided tours running at 12pm, 3pm and 5pm daily.
