ARRIBA! Spanish National Day

#Traveltradetogether

Jacinta from Travelbiz attended Spain’s National Day celebration in Dublin on Friday 13th October.

The invitation, issued by HE Mr Ion de La Riva, Ambassador of Spain to Ireland, was a busy affair and many Ambassadors were present. Held in the Ballroom of the Riu Plaza Gresham Hotel on Dublin’s O’Connell St., the great and the good of Spain’s loyal followers was present. Of course, the Spanish Tourist Office in Dublin was represented by Ruben Lopez, Director, and his wonderful team.

His Excellency, Mr Ion de la Riva advised that, as Spain holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union (until December 2023), he has enjoyed wonderful cooperation with Ireland. A recent meeting in Granada saw our Taoiseach, Mr Leo Varadker, reaching agreement in relation to enlargement and migration. As old allies, Spain and Ireland ‘s relationship goes back to the days of the Spanish Armada and even the Treaty of Dingle. Celtic myth bonds us together.

A live stage performance by Eva Basteiro-Bertoli was simply delightful and set the scene for a lively evening full of delicious tapas and excellent Spanish wine. Viva Espana!
