AmaWaterways Unveiled: River Cruise Masterclass Onboard AmaSerena

Travelbiz River Cruiser Ita Hendrick recently joined Andrea Stafford, Sales Director UK & Europe for AmaWaterways, along with a select group of Irish travel trade partners for an exclusive AmaWaterways River Cruise Masterclass onboard the beautiful AmaSerena.

The three-day educational sailing through the Netherlands offered the group a valuable opportunity to experience first-hand the AmaWaterways guest experience, from the ship’s elegant design and culinary offering to its immersive shore excursions and exceptional onboard service.

Representatives from John Galligan Travel, Frosch Ireland, John Cassidy Travel, Atlantic Travel Worldchoice, Navan Travel and Adams & Butler joined the sailing, gaining deeper insights into the AmaWaterways product while enjoying the relaxed luxury and warm hospitality the brand is known for.

A Perfect Setting For A River Cruise Masterclass

The masterclass itinerary showcased the charm and diversity of the Dutch waterways, combining scenic cruising with visits to historic cities and cultural highlights.

The journey began with embarkation in Amsterdam, where guests boarded AmaSerena from 3pm before settling into their elegant staterooms and enjoying the ship’s welcoming atmosphere.

Day two brought a visit to Dordrecht, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, known for its rich maritime history and charming canals. Guests then enjoyed lunch onboard while cruising towards Rotterdam, offering the perfect opportunity to appreciate the relaxing pace of river cruising while taking in the ever-changing scenery.

The final day included time in Zaandam and Amsterdam, allowing guests to explore more of the region’s iconic architecture, culture and vibrant local life before concluding the masterclass sailing.

Experiencing Life Onboard AmaSerena

Throughout the cruise, the group enjoyed the many amenities and thoughtful touches that define the AmaWaterways experience.

AmaSerena is a beautifully designed river ship combining contemporary elegance with comfort and spacious public areas. Carrying approximately 160 guests, the ship offers a boutique-style atmosphere with highly personalised service from the attentive crew.

Many of the staterooms feature AmaWaterways’ signature twin balconies, offering both a French balcony and a full outside balcony, allowing guests to fully enjoy the stunning river views.

Onboard facilities include the stylish Main Lounge and Bar, the Sun Deck with heated pool and swim-up bar, a well-equipped fitness centre, wellness areas for spa treatments and the popular Chef’s Table speciality restaurant, where guests can enjoy a multi-course tasting experience prepared in an open kitchen.

Dining onboard is a highlight of any AmaWaterways sailing, with menus inspired by the destinations visited and complemented by fine wines, beer and soft drinks included with lunch and dinner.
