Aer Lingus puts the spotlight on seven brand-new destinations for summer 2026

Introducing hidden gems such as Asturias in northern Spain, Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, and Montpellier in the south of France.

Aer Lingus will introduce seven brand-new routes from Dublin and Cork this summer, offering customers the chance to explore some of Europe’s most charming destinations.

From Dublin, Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Emerald Airlines, will commence new services to Asturias, Oslo, Tours, Inverness and Montpellier, ensuring customers have more choice this summer. New flights will also commence from Cork to Nice, the jewel of the French Riviera, and to the historic Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela.

Asturias is often described as northern Spain’s best kept secret. The region boasts breathtaking emerald valleys, rugged cliffs, and coastal charm – with over 200 beaches waiting to be explored. Another option for outdoor enthusiasts is Oslo, the thriving capital of Norway, which is famous for its museums, architecture and the epic Oslofjord. Adventure and history lovers alike will be spoilt for choice in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, a region rich in heritage and now famous as the home of The Traitors UK series.

For those seeking a taste of French culture, a new flight from Dublin to Montpellier in southern France provides easy access to the historical city and the rustic villages and towns nearby and also a new Aer Lingus Regional service to Tours, the heart of France’s Loire Valley.

Additionally, Aer Lingus is introducing a new route from Cork to Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur. Nice boasts chic boutiques and vibrant nightlife, while the tranquil villages of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Èze are within easy reach.

Customers from Cork will also be able to fly direct to Santiago de Compostela, which serves as a convenient gateway to the iconic Camino de Santiago. As a standalone destination, the city’s Old Town (Casco Antiguo), a UNESCO world heritage site, is brimming with old world charm, impressive architecture, and fascinating history. The airline’s seasonal Cork-Prague route has also been extended to a year-round service.

As always, customers flying to Europe and the UK with Aer Lingus can enjoy significant savings, as every fare type includes a 10kg bag as standard, which can be checked in free of charge or carried on board by paying a fee.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer said: “Our summer 2026 schedule is our most diverse yet, introducing a carefully curated selection of charming destinations. From the urban culture of Oslo to the awe-inspiring scenery of Asturias, Aer Lingus has a destination that is sure to appeal to appeal to every type of explorer.

“Our Saver fares, which include a free 10kg bag that can be checked in for free, offer our customers added convenience and reassurance as they prepare for that all-important getaway.”
