Aer Lingus move to Terminal 3 at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago

Aer Lingus will as of today, move its operations from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. The move will create a more efficient travel and customer experience for Aer Lingus passengers.

The terminal move will provide Aer Lingus customers with a more seamless travel experience and greater onward connections in North America.

There is an enhanced experience for customers with easy transfers to terminals 1,2 and 3, with no need for further security screening. Customers travelling to Ireland will be greeted by six dedicated Aer Lingus check-in desks conveniently located in the departure terminal. Business class customers, AerClub Concierge and Platinum customers will have access to the AA Flagship and Admiral lounges, conveniently located for the boarding gates, all providing a greatly enhanced customer experience.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer said, ‘’Aer Lingus has a long and proud history flying to Chicago since 1966 and the Dublin to Chicago route is consistently one of our top three transatlantic routes. Moving our operations to Terminal 3 in O’Hare International Airport is an exciting milestone and brings us closer with our airline partner American Airlines for the benefit of both of our customers. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming our customers to Terminal 3 on January 24.’’

Ireland’s status as a pre-clearance country for U.S. Customs and Border Protection allows passengers to go through U.S. customs in Ireland before departing for the United States without needing to be screened upon arrival.

Aer Lingus joined the Atlantic Joint Business in 2020. This joint venture, with American Airline, British Airways, Iberia, and Finnair, has brought significant benefits to millions of passengers, including lower fares and access to more destinations with better aligned schedules and frequencies, since its launch in 2010.

Aer Lingus operates direct flights from Dublin to O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Chicago, nine times a week, and will increase to 14 times weekly in March ahead of the summer travel season.
