Aer Lingus Flies Jessie Buckley’s Family to LA

Red Carpet Ready! Aer Lingus flies Jessie Buckley’s Family to LA.

Aer Lingus is once again proudly supporting Ireland’s brightest film talent, as the family of Best Actress nominee, Jessie Buckley departed Dublin Airport today for Hollywood ahead of the 98th Academy Awards.

In true Oscar’s style, Aer Lingus rolled out the red carpet for Marina and Tim Buckley and Jessie’s sister Lily as they boarded flight EI069 direct to Los Angeles. The special send off marked the beginning of a momentous journey as they travel to support Jessie at one of the most prestigious nights in global cinema.

Aer Lingus also proudly supported other Irish nominees in the lead up to this year’s ceremony. The airline flew Andrew Freedman and John Kelly to Los Angeles after their film Retirement Plan secured a nomination for Best Animated Short. With Irish talent strongly represented across multiple categories at this year’s awards, Aer Lingus is honoured to play a role in connecting Ireland’s creative community with Hollywood at such a significant moment for the industry.

Donal Moriarty, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Aer Lingus, said:
“Aer Lingus takes great pride in supporting Ireland’s film talent as they make their way to Hollywood for the Academy Awards. These are milestone moments, not only for the nominees themselves, but for their families and for Ireland. It is a privilege to play our part in such a special chapter for Irish film. We wish Jessie, the Retirement Plan team, and all of the Irish nominees and creatives attending this year’s awards the very best of luck.”

Aer Lingus currently operates up to six flights per week from Dublin to Los Angeles, increasing to daily service during the summer season. Customers travelling transatlantic can enjoy an extensive onboard entertainment library, including a selection of Oscar-nominated films such as One Battle After Another and Bugonia.

By 2026, Aer Lingus’ North American network will expand to 24 routes from Ireland, including new destinations such as Pittsburgh and Raleigh-Durham, further strengthening the airline’s role in connecting Ireland with North America.
