Lucky number 3 – Nevada to benefit from a trio of new services in 2024

The state of Nevada will welcome three new direct services from leading airlines in 2024 following recent announcements from Virgin Atlantic, Norse Atlantic Airways and Aer Lingus, opening up onward travel opportunities throughout the Silver State.

Opening up even more travel opportunities from the UK & Ireland, Nevada is ready to welcome a new wave of travellers from the north west of England, Surrey and Ireland in 2024. Located in the Western region of the United States and landlocked between five neighbouring states, Nevada is defined by contrasts and offers visitors a rich history with diverse cultures. Known for its arid desert landscapes, alluring casinos, and vibrant nightlife, ‘The Silver State’ is also home to a variety of pristine natural wonders including the Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Tahoe and Great Basin National Park, as well as quirky ghost towns, eccentric exhibitions and attractions.

Commencing operations earlier this week, Virgin Atlantic re-introduced its direct seasonal route on 2 June offering three flights weekly from Manchester Airport (MAN) until 25 October 2024. Opening travel to travellers from across north of England and the Midlands, return flights start from £671 departing Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Passengers will get to fly an Airbus A350-1000 which features the first generation of Virgin Atlantic’s ‘with a door’ Upper Class Suite.

Taking off on 12 September, Norse Atlantic Airways also launches a new three-times-weekly route from London Gatwick (LGW). Using a two-class Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the airline has given the route “its own lucky number seven” in honour of Las Vegas, designating it flight Z0777. Economy fares lead in from £399pp while premium fares start from £1,029pp, including taxes and fees.

The latest announcement comes from Aer Lingus with a brand-new direct service departing three times weekly from Dublin (DUB). Launching on 25 October until 31 March 2025, lead in fares start from 499 euros return in economy with the added comfort of pre-clearance U.S. Customs and immigration before boarding. Flights depart Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays departing at 15:20 and arriving at Harry Reid International Airport at 17:50 allowing plenty of time to enjoy an evening in the sports and entertainment capital of the world.

“We are thrilled to welcome three new direct services from the UK and Ireland to Harry Reid International Airport this year. These new routes are set to significantly boost tourism, making it more convenient for travellers to experience the vibrant entertainment of Las Vegas, in addition to the stunning natural landscapes, cultural attractions and world-class hospitality that Nevada offers. We anticipate an increase in international visitors by the end of 2024, contributing to the growth and diversity of our tourism industry,” shares Rafael Villanueva, recently appointed CEO of Travel Nevada.

Travel Nevada has created 10 “grab and go” road trip itineraries themed for every type of traveller from outdoor adventurers to art aficionados, stopping at national and state parks, open-air museums, ghost towns and even a clown motel. Designed to guide visitors safely through the 60 million acres of public land accessible across the state, the itineraries can be combined to create 2–10-day trips traversing the length and breadth of the state, allowing visitors to absorb as much culture as desired. Road trips include the Extraterrestrial Highway, Cowboy Corridor, Lake Tahoe Loop, Great Basin Highway, Neon to Nature and Free-Range Art Highway.

Earlier this year, Travel Nevada launched their new global campaign, titled ‘Get a Little out There’ encouraging travellers to find their own adventure in the desert. The new services will open onward travel opportunities from Las Vegas, calling to those looking to explore the wild and off-beat nature of the Silver State.

This year, Nevada celebrates two key anniversaries, including the 90th anniversary of the Valley of Fire State Park, known for its iconic sweeping red sandstone formations and 2,000-year-old petroglyphs, and the 160th anniversary of the state independence. Marked in October, the annual celebrations take place in Carson City, home of the “official” Nevada Day Parade.
