Norwegian Cruise Line – Ship Visit Dublin

All the nice girls love a sailor!

It was Anchors Aweigh for Jacinta from Travelbiz on Tuesday May 7th joining a group of eager travel agents to meet up with Aaron Fletcher from Norwegian Cruise Line in Dun Laoghaire Harbour to visit The Norwegian Getaway. Safely delivered by tender from shore, Aaron from NCL greeted us with Gary and Kirsty to board the lovely ship. Departing from St. Michael’s Pier, everyone was excited to tour Norwegian Getaway and see first-hand the amazing facilities on board.

Aaron delivered a very impressive presentation, gave us detailed statistics and brought us through the various areas of note. I was not alone in considering the amenities on board had the wow factor. The dining options are vast and run the gamut from American Diner casual style to fabulous buffet to Cagney’s Steakhouse, Moderno Churrascaria, O’Sheehan’s Bar & Grill, Tropicana main dining room, Teppanaki to Le Bistro French Restaurant and more! Speciality restaurants are a major feature on Norwegian Getaway and although many facilities are complimentary, your local travel agent will guide you through the brilliant “Free At Sea” packages and available upgrades to elevate your cruise experience to another level.

A spacious theatre, Bliss Ultra Lounge, Syd Norman’s Pour Lounge, Sunset Bar and loads more outlets to slake your thirst. Dehydration is not an option on board The Norwegian Getaway….. A casino, spa & fitness centre, photo gallery, Splash Academy youth centre, art gallery, cigar lounge and sports complex just scrape the surface of onboard guest facilities. Aaron apprised us of the super options for solo travellers too and he walked us around the expansive deck areas to show us the various swimming areas, rope course, kiddies area and waves pool bar.

Norwegian Getaway was a real eye opener so it’s not surprising that Aaron Fletcher takes such pride in his work. The ship has spacious cabins, superb amenities and follows wonderful itineraries. Shiver me timbers and happy holidays to all who sail on her.  It’s always great to Getaway!
