Ready, Jet-Set, Go! – Cork Airport Launches Its 2024 Summer Schedule

This year’s summer schedule starts on Sunday March 31 and will operate until Saturday October 26.

2.4 million seats on sale this summer across 48 routes, operated by eight airlines between April and October.

Ryanair will operate three new routes to Brussels Charleroi, Rhodes, and Zadar.

Cork Airport expects to welcome over 3 million passengers in 2024.

Cork Airport has officially launched its 2024 Summer Schedule, featuring 2.4 million seats across 48 routes, operated by eight airlines. The summer schedule, which will come into effect on Sunday, March 31 was launched by Angela Walsh, President of the Irish Travel Agents Association at an event in Cork city last night, in the company of civic and business representatives, airline and airport stakeholders, tourism bodies, members of the travel trade along with local, regional, and national media.

This summer, Ryanair will commence services to three new destinations – Brussels Charleroi, Rhodes, and Zadar. With strong demand for a direct service to Greece, it is expected that this new service will prove to be popular with passengers from across the South of Ireland. The service to Rhodes commences on Saturday, June 1 and will operate twice weekly (Wednesday, Saturday). Zadar, located on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast provides even more choice for a summer getaway this year. The service to Zadar commences on Monday, June 3 and will also operate twice weekly (Monday, Friday). A new, direct connection with Brussels Charleroi will commence on Sunday, March 31 and further enhances links with the wider Benelux region. The three-times weekly service (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) will also stand to benefit inbound tourism, providing direct air access to the scenic South of Ireland for Belgian holidaymakers. In total, Ryanair will operate 32 routes from Cork Airport to destinations across the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, and Greece this summer.

Following the success of their winter service to Tenerife, Aer Lingus will extend the operation of the service to the popular Canary Island throughout the summer season. Aer Lingus will operate services to the ever-popular sun destinations of Malaga, Faro, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, and Dubrovnik while also maintaining key European hub connectivity to Amsterdam Schiphol and London-Heathrow, with a four-times-daily service to the English capital. Aer Lingus Regional will continue to operate the popular six-times weekly service to Bristol. In total, Aer Lingus will operate nine services from Cork Airport this summer season.

Summer marks the return of some of Europe’s most recognisable flag carriers and on Sunday, March 31, Air France will resume their daily service to Paris Charles de Gaulle. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will continue to operate their twice-daily service to Amsterdam Schiphol, providing onward connections to over 150 destinations. Lufthansa and SWISS International Airlines will return to Cork Airport in April, operating services to Frankfurt (three-times weekly) and Zurich (twice-weekly) respectively. Finally, TUI will operate charter services to Reus, Lanzarote, and Palma de Mallorca – with each of those services commencing on Saturday, May 4.

Speaking at the launch of the Cork Airport 2024 Summer Schedule, Head of Aviation Business Development at Cork Airport, Tara Finn said: “With an unrivalled choice of 48 routes from Cork Airport between April and October, the summer season is shaping up to be an incredibly busy one. We’re particularly pleased to introduce three new services to Brussels Charleroi, Zadar, and Rhodes, operated by Ryanair. This summer, book early and book Cork.”

Managing Director at Cork Airport, Niall MacCarthy added: “Airports can be stressful and impersonal places. That differs in Cork. Our team at Cork Airport always aim to make your journey fun and hassle-free, in a clean, efficient, and friendly environment. Come and fly Cork this summer and experience our passenger journey for yourself.”

With record passenger numbers expected at Munster’s favourite airport this summer, passengers are encouraged to book car parking in advance to secure the best value rates. Cork Airport is known for its fast, friendly, and efficient security screening process and this summer, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before their flight is due to depart.

Independent market research undertaken by RedC has determined that Cork Airport ranks amongst the best airports in Europe for friendliness and customer service. For the year 2023, passengers gave Cork Airport a 94% satisfaction rating, scoring it 4.7 out of 5.
