Aer Lingus Flies Best Actor nominee Cillian Murphy and Irish ‘Poor Things’ nominees to Hollywood, Irish Stars Soar with Aer Lingus!

Aer Lingus proudly announces its support for Irish talent ahead of this year’s Oscars taking place in Los Angeles, Sunday, March 10th. Following on from last year’s Oscars’ flight departure reception at Dublin Airport, Aer Lingus continues to support and look after the best of Irish film talent ahead of this year’s awards.

Irish Best Actor nominee, Cillian Murphy, travelled with Aer Lingus on flight EI 069 to Los Angeles ahead of the prestigious event, as did the members of the crew and production from the critically acclaimed film ‘Poor Things’, which has been nominated for a remarkable 11 Academy Awards.

As anticipation mounts for the glamorous event, Aer Lingus is honoured to have carried some of Ireland’s finest talent across the Atlantic to showcase their artistry and represent Ireland on the illustrious Oscars red carpet. Among those who travelled are renowned cinematographer Robbie Ryan and other Element Pictures talent who are nominated for their exceptional work on ‘Poor Things’, starring Emma Stone.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, says “Aer Lingus is honoured to play a part in this cinematic journey and extend our hospitality and support to our own Irish talent as they and their families come together to celebrate this significant occasion for the Irish film industry. At Aer Lingus, we make every journey count, and this week, our Oscar nominees are embarking on one of their most important journeys as they travel to LA to represent Ireland at the most iconic movie awards in the world. Our Aer Lingus crews will go above and beyond to make it a memorable experience, and we wish Cillian and Robbie, as well as the rest of the Irish contingent the very best of luck. We hope to have extra seats to carry the golden statues on the flight home to Dublin from LA!”

Aer Lingus offers daily flights from Dublin direct to Los Angeles, with flights increasing to daily for the summer. This year, the airline will operate 18 routes from Ireland to North America, including a new direct flight to Denver for the first time.
