TÜRKIYE Celebrates 19.5% Growth in Tourism Numbers from Ireland in 2023

The Turkish Tourism Board today announced record-breaking growth in tourism numbers from Ireland.

The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism recorded a 19.5% year-on-year growth in Irish visitors to the country. These above expectation numbers contributed to a total of 163,000 visitors from Ireland in 2023.

The Turkish Tourism Board stated: “This remarkable expansion underscores Türkiye’s position as the preferred destination for Irish tourists. With its blend of a vibrant culture, rich history, and stunning landscapes, Türkiye captivates global visitors. Our goal is to further enhance this momentum in the coming year, building on the successes of 2023.”

In 2023, Türkiye welcomed a total of 56.7 million international visitors, reflecting a 10% increase year-on-year. The country’s tourism income rose by 17% to €49.6 billion, with an average expenditure per night for overnight visitors reaching €91. These compelling figures solidify Türkiye as a powerhouse in the global travel market.
