Summer in the City: Finnair reveals expanded network for 2024

#Traveltradetogether

New routes to Wroclaw and Gdansk, Poland. Expanded capacity in Japan and increased frequencies to Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin.

Finnair has unveiled its expanded summer 2024 network, featuring the hottest destinations from across its network.

The new super schedule has been announced in response to the increased demand for global travel across both Europe and Asia, and includes new routes and numerous frequency additions.

From 2 April 2024, customers will be able to enjoy a new seven weekly direct service between Helsinki and the Polish city of Wroclaw.

The vibrant city, known as Poland’s Silicon Valley, has a picture-perfect old town and a lively scene of art museums, cafes, restaurants and vintage shops, making it perfect for a summer weekend getaway.

Gdansk will also return to Finnair’s European network, with a 10x weekly service from Helsinki commencing on 31 March 2024.

Customers based in the UK & Ireland will also benefit from Finnair’s new schedule, with additional flights added to Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin in 2024.

Those travelling between England and Helsinki, will be able to enjoy 12 weekly flights direct from Manchester, up from eight this summer, and 29 from London Heathrow, bringing the Finnish capital even closer.

From Scotland, the Nordic airline will also add an additional two weekly flights to Helsinki, bringing the service up to seven times per week in the summer.

Due to the success of Finnair’s Dublin route, launched in 2015, the carrier will also increase direct flights to Helsinki from seven to 10 weekly in summer 2024, giving customers better connectivity to Finland and beyond.

Each flight will also offer an extra 44 seats, as the airline upgrades capacity on the route from an E190 to an A319.

Ole Orvér, Finnair Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted to introduce Wroclaw as a new destination. It is not only a welcome addition for business travellers but also an intriguing leisure destination for people looking for a city break in a picturesque setting”.

“Our expanded frequencies to the UK and Ireland are also incredibly important to Finnair’s strategy and we know these will prove popular with customers looking to plan their long-awaited summer getaways across Finland, Europe and Asia”.

Finnair will also be adding additional flights to Japan, for those looking to adventure into Asia.

The popular connections from Helsinki to Osaka and Tokyo-Narita will both see an additional two weekly flights next summer, giving the routes five and six weekly flights respectively, in addition to Finnair’s existing daily Tokyo-Haneda service.

European connections will also be expanded, with additional frequencies to Scandinavia’s key cities, including Bergen, Billund, Stockholm, Tromso and Trondheim.

Finnair’s popular pre-pandemic connection from Helsinki-Stockholm-Bergen will also be reintroduced, giving customers the option to fly direct from Stockholm to Bergen, in addition to direct Helsinki flights.

Services have been specifically timed to allow for easy connections from top UK airports, London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and the Irish capital Dublin.

Finnair offers smooth and easy transfers between flights from as little as 35 minutes, thanks to all flights operating from the same terminal.

All flights can be booked at Finnair.com or with travel agents. For more information visit finnair.com.
