Swan Hellenic’s SH Vega sails into Dublin.

#Traveltradetogether

Dublin officially welcomed Swan Hellenic’s expedition cruise ship SH Vega on her inaugural visit and a group of travel trade together with Declan Mescall (Features Editor Travelbiz) were invited onboard for a tour of the vessel followed by lunch on the aft open deck under brilliant sunshine on Bank Holiday Saturday. ITAA’s new CEO Clare Dunne was in attendance.

Swan Hellenic is an expedition cruise company operating state-of-the-art 5-star luxurious adventure cruises to the Artic, Antarctica and Rest of the World.

Mario Bounas (GM, UK & Ireland), Luke Clarke (Sales Director UK & Ire) and Lynsey Devon (Public Relations – all Swan Hellenic) welcomed the group and guided them through the ship’s impressive facilities. Mario said, “we are looking forward to offering Irish guests a wide variety of extraordinary in-depth experiences seeing what others don’t on this five-star vessel”. Renowned Polar Explorer Anthony Jinman (expedition leader and guide) gave an interesting presentation on what guests might experience when visiting the Artic and Antarctica. SH Vega was purpose designed and built for premium cultural expedition cruising, with a strong bias for extreme latitude areas, to explore the most inspiring and inaccessible places on the planet. She was launched in June 2022 and accommodates only 152 guests in 76 spacious suites and staterooms, the majority with large balconies. Luxurious onboard facilities include 3 dining venues, library, spa sauna, gym, swimming pool, Club Lounge, lecture hall facilities, a Basecamp – a Concierge managed full service changing room where you kit up for your expeditions. The vessel comes equipped with 13 Zodiacs and 8 Kayaks and is completely self-sufficient for up to 40 days or 8,000 nautical miles, enabling extraordinarily immersive cruise voyages to small and lesser-known ports of cultural, geographical or wildlife interest as well as bucket list cities.

The crew of 132 includes a team of 12 seasoned expedition guides, expert speakers and lecturers.
