Aer Lingus inaugural flight from Dublin to Cleveland Ohio

#Traveltradetogether

Oh hi, Ohio! It’s time to discover Cleveland with Travelbiz.ie

Friday 19 May heralded the inaugural Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Cleveland, Ohio. It’s the airlines first new transatlantic service since 2019 and Aer Lingus now operates 19 transatlantic routes between Ireland and North America. The launch of this new service to Cleveland demonstrates the airline’s commitment to connecting Europe to North America via its hub in Dublin Airport. Aer Lingus becomes the only airline to fly between Europe and Cleveland. Flying four times weekly the new Dublin-Cleveland service will be operated by a state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo LR, which comprises both business and economy class cabin, delivers up to 20% reduction in fuel burn and close to 50% reduction in noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft.

To celebrate the new DUB-CLE service Aer Lingus and Destination Cleveland invited travel trade partners Leah Quinn (American Holidays), Imelda McCarthy (Travel Counsellors), Lisa McNamara (Bookabed), Lorraine Crowley (Shandon Travel), Noelle O’Leary (Barter’s Travelnet), Marina Gomez Fernandez (Click&Go) and Declan Mescall (Travelbiz Features Editor) on the inaugural flight followed by a four day Fam trip of Cleveland.

Jenny Rafter (Head Global Sales Leisure Aer Lingus), Yolanda Fletcher and Emily Lauer (both Destination Cleveland) travelled with the group and were exceptional hosts. As Ivan Beacom (Aer Lingus) was dragged away with Don Shearer (Travelbiz) for more transatlantic features with Aer Lingus.

A cutting of the tape and gate celebration was hosted at Dublin Airport by daa while speeches welcoming the new service were made by Vincent Harrison (daa), Siobhan Mc Manamy (Tourism Ireland) and Donal Moriarty (Aer Lingus).
