AWTE Celebrate International Women’s Day

#Traveltradetogether

Jacinta from Travelbiz joined the wonderful women from the Association of Women Travel Executives in Dublin’s Clarence Hotel to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March. Gorgeous, glamorous and gloriously determined, members of the executive are highly experienced and hardworking. Many run their own successful travel agency and offer gainful employment to many more. Mna na hEireann are fearless having survived a gruelling and particularly punishing time through those lean Covid years. But now, zest for travel is huge and so to celebrate with their usual panache! Public demand for holidays is at an all-time high, so positivity is the order of the day.

Guest speaker, Brenda Morgan (Head of Business Development City of Derry Airport) has immense experience in the sector and doubtless her appointment as Chair of NI Tourism Alliance since 2018 equips her well to support the sustainable growth of the tourism industry. She related her great story and inspired confidence in all. The Committee was thrilled with the generous support on the day. Headline sponsor, Spanish Tourist Board and Region of Murcia (Costa Calida) put up an amazing prize of a trip to Murcia and sponsored the delicious wines from Bodegas Castano and the Sommelier, Juan Michel, told us all about the wines from Yecla and Bullas.  Ruben Lopez (Director Spanish TO Dublin) is always delighted to sponsor this event and his generosity is much appreciated.  Irish Ferries, The Loop, Amadeus, Blue Insurance, Accident & General, Travel Suite, Travel Centres and Ruby Sue came on board offering great prizes. Entertainment was sponsored by Bookabed and Princess Cruises and the supremely talented Suzanne Carla entrances with her versatility and wonderful voice. Clare Dunne handed over the reins of Chair of AWTE to Ciara Foley (Platinum Travel), so best of luck to Ciara for the future. An afternoon to remember in the Rose Room in The Clarence – AWTE take a bow.
