Flights from Helsinki begin 30 October! Finnair’s second Japanese route.

This weekend, Finnair is launching new direct flights from Helsinki to Tokyo-Haneda, in a boost to its Asian services.

From 30 October, flights to Tokyo’s second airport will operate daily in addition to twice weekly connections to Narita, giving customers a great choice of flight options to Japan and the country’s capital. The first flight comes just weeks after Japan eased its travel restrictions, after more than two years of severe curbs to travel due to the pandemic.

Return flights from London to Tokyo start from £821 in Economy Class, £1,364 in Premium Economy, and £3,276 in Business Class (including all taxes and charges).

Andrew Fish (Finnair General Manager UK Ireland & Benelux) said: “The launch of Finnair flights to Tokyo – Haneda marks a major milestone in the resumption of services to Japan and Asia”.

“We know customers will appreciate the return of the shorter northern route between Europe and Japan even with the closure of Russian airspace, and quick connections between flights at our Helsinki hub”.

Tokyo’s Haneda Airport is conveniently located close to the city and will offer Finnair customers more seamless connections onto other Asian destinations, via oneworld partners, including Japan Airlines. Customers will now also be able to independently visit the country for tourism purposes without the need for a visa or an organised tour group.

Finnair customers flying to Japan will also be able to experience the airline’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350 aircraft, featuring its brand-new long-haul cabins, including industry-leading Air Lounge Business Class seats, a brand-new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy cabin. Flights depart Helsinki at 17:55, arriving in to Tokyo Haneda at 14:25 the following afternoon. The return flight leaves Haneda at 21:55, arriving in to Finnair’s home at 04:25 the following morning. Services have been specifically timed to allow for easy connections onto Finnair’s worldwide destinations – including top UK airports, London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and the Irish capital Dublin.

Finnair offers smooth and easy transfers between flights from as little as 35 minutes, thanks to all flights operating from the same terminal.
