Pride Starts Here: Celebrate June in Chicago
Chicago is home to one of the nation’s most vibrant and historic LGBTQ+ communities, with neighbourhoods across the city celebrating queer culture through year-round festivals, nightlife, and community events. As the birthplace of the first recognised U.S. gay rights organisation in 1924, Chicago has long been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ activism and inclusivity.
Each June, the city comes alive for Pride Month celebrations, including Chicago Pride Fest on Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st June 2026 and the iconic Chicago Pride Parade on Sunday 28th June 2026, one of the largest and most vibrant Pride celebrations in the country. Beyond the major events, visitors can also experience Chicago’s LGBTQ+ culture year-round through its diverse independent restaurants, bars, and nightlife venues, from authentic Puerto Rican dining and high energy drag brunches to intimate queer-owned cocktail bars, all contributing to the city’s warm, welcoming and a community focused ethos.
