Visit Belfast – What’s Keepin’ you?
Jacinta from Travelbiz was delighted to accept a lovely invitation from our near neighbours in Belfast who came to Dublin to spread their news and consistent good cheer. Visit Belfast with its strategic partner, Galgorm Collection, hosted lunch in Hugo’s Restaurant on Merrion Row on March 24th.

Tourism Northern Ireland (represented by Fiona Cunningham and Clare Mc Coy in Dublin) is proactive in promoting the beauty and attractions of Northern Ireland and, from my experience, they have lots to brag about! We need to travel north a lot more (and It’s only a wee journey away!) to enjoy the northern counties and the epic delights of Belfast. Siobhan Mc Guigan (Tourism NI Head of Events) joyously told us of forthcoming events and made sure we have Hallowe’en in Derry marked in our calendars – the biggest festival in Europe!

“Rooted in Tradition and Made for Now” is the clever marketing tool of Visit Belfast and it absolutely rings true. Belfast has seen a marvellous resurgence in popularity and can hark back to a dark past whilst moving forward to a bright future. It’s a great vibrant city these days. Gavin Mc Kenna (Visit Belfast Director of Marketing) was so enthusiastic about his native city and its amazing attractions (think Titanic, Game of Thrones Studio tour, the Fleadh in early August, great eateries and family adventures), his positive attitude alone was infectious.

The ease of reaching Belfast from Dublin on the Enterprise cannot be underestimated. A wonderfully smooth and comfortable train trip (who doesn’t love train travel?) with great food on board is a must. Excellent road networks from all over the country also make Belfast an easy destination.

As Northern Ireland’s premier luxury hospitality group, The Galgorm Collection has a shining star in its 5*Galgorm Resort in Ballymena. The award-winning flagship is supported by other stunning properties like The Rabbit Hole & Retreat in Templepatrick and The Old Inn in Crawfordsburn both of which offer super spa facilities in cosy and elegant surroundings. Superb dining opportunities, thermal spa facilities and wonderfully friendly staff, the properties offer high end experiences that are second to none.

Both Victoria Brown (Group Marketing Manager) and Leigh Heggarty (Director of Business Development) waxed lyrical about the Collection and the ambitious plans afoot for a stunning links golf course. No wonder the accolades are pouring in. Galgorm Girls! You are excellent Ambassadors. I can’t wait to visit.
Strong in Spirit. Big at Heart. Visit Belfast. Sure, what’s keeping you?
