Florida´s Space Coast invites the world to witness the next chapter of Space Exploration

Florida’s Space Coast – America’s historic Gateway to the Stars – continues to define the nation’s legacy of innovation and exploration as it prepares for the next era of human spaceflight through NASA’s Artemis Program.

Since the dawn of the Space Race in the 1950s, Florida’s Space Coast has served as the launchpad for humanity’s greatest achievements beyond Earth. From Mercury and Apollo to the Space Shuttle Program and the International Space Station, the region has been at the forefront of pushing technological boundaries and expanding human potential. Today, that legacy continues as Artemis II  picks up where Apollo left off, aiming to return astronauts to the Moon and pave the way for future exploration of Mars. Artemis II is scheduled to launch no earlier than April 2026 on a 10-day mission to orbit the moon with four astronauts. This mission is paving the way for a future mission to land on the moon again.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE

Cape Canaveral, home to America’s first orbital launch in 1958, remains a hub of constant activity, with rockets now launching on a weekly basis from Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Visitors to the Space Coast have the rare opportunity to witness history in real time, whether from iconic viewing locations, beachfront parks and piers, exclusive boat tours, or even their hotel balconies. The The Space Coast Launches app provides mission-critical updates, ensuring visitors never miss a moment of these awe-inspiring events.

At the heart of the experience is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex,, the region’s premier attraction and a cornerstone of America’s space heritage. Guests can explore immersive exhibits covering the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programmes, view the powerful machines that shaped space exploration, and discover what lies ahead with Artemis. The Visitor Complex also offers unparalleled launch viewing opportunities, including from the historic Launch Complex 39 gantry.

Florida’s Space Coast stands as a living testament to the American spirit of discovery – where past achievements meet future ambitions. With the Artemis Program ushering in a new era of exploration, the Space Coast invites travellers, space enthusiasts, and dreamers of all ages to be part of history and to look beyond the stars. More information on the region and a trip planning tool can be found on the official website. Once in the area the Visitor Information Center at 267 W. Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach, 32931 Florida provides local information as well as some popular photo opportunities.
