A special Fitzpatrick’s reunion with key trade and media partners

#Travelbizconnect #Travelbizhub #Fitzpatricks

Our very own Ita Hendrick was delighted to join John Fitzpatrick and The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group team last night at Dublin’s Café en Seine for an intimate evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The gathering was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with valued trade and media partners and celebrate the strong ties between Ireland and New York.

The Fitzpatrick Hotels New York Group is home to two of our most popular and cherished New York properties — Fitzpatrick Manhattan and Fitzpatrick Grand Central — long regarded as the number one choice for Irish trade partners. Opened in December 1991, Fitzpatrick Manhattan was the only Irish-owned and operated hotel in New York at the time, and today both properties remain the only Irish-owned and operated hotels in Manhattan — a true testament to the Fitzpatrick legacy.

Dublin-born hotelier and philanthropist John Fitzpatrick, who worked alongside his family in the group’s Irish hotels throughout the 1970s and 1980s, has called New York home since opening the Manhattan property over three decades ago.

Guests were warmly welcomed by Shane on arrival, before John personally greeted attendees and shared a few words. He spoke about the importance of the Irish trade to the hotel group, expressed his gratitude for the continued support, and noted that it had been three years since their last visit to Dublin – promising not to leave it so long next time. He also reassured guests that New York remains as welcoming as ever and would love to see even more Irish visitors.

One of the highlights of the evening was a humorous story from the early days, when business was challenging. John invited members of the Irish trade to stay at the hotel free of charge – including Maureen Delmar. After a fantastic visit, an airline issue delayed their return home, resulting in an extended stay… which the airline ultimately covered. What began as a generous ‘freebie’ ended up being paid in full! John warmly thanked Maureen for her longstanding support and for continuing to be such a fantastic advocate for the Fitzpatrick properties.

A truly lovely evening celebrating partnership, heritage and the enduring Irish connection in the heart of Manhattan.
