Spring Hotels Joins 20th Anniversary Walk for Life to Support Cancer Awareness

Employees Come Together to Make a Meaningful Impact in Tenerife’s Landmark Charity Event.

With a long-standing commitment to the Tenerife community, Spring Hotels proudly took part in the 20th edition of the Walk for Life on Sunday 30th November, Tenerife’s cherished charity event supporting cancer awareness and research. The milestone walk drew an impressive 7,500 participants and raised €133,000, with 42 employees from Spring Hotels joining in to show their heartfelt support.

Demonstrating their dedication to the cause, Spring Hotels covered registration fees for all staff who wished to take part and provided optional transport for those coming from nearby towns. Employees gathered at Siam Mall at 09:45 and walked side by side through Playa de Las Américas, the Verónicas area, and along the Golden Mile. Many personalised their race numbers in memory or honour of loved ones, making the experience deeply personal and meaningful. Live music, family-friendly activities, and the vibrant atmosphere along the route enhanced the sense of celebration and solidarity.

“Walking together as a team felt really special,” said Anna Marie Lacey, Agency Support at Spring Hotels. “I’ve been walking the Walk for Life for nearly 20 years now, and it gets more emotional every year. People of all ages and abilities were there, and you could really feel the hope and support from everyone. Seeing so many T-shirts that said ‘Walk for Mama’ was incredibly moving, and there was also a joyful, celebratory side with music, dancing, and even Zumba along the route. One word kept coming to mind: UNITY.”

“Taking part in the Walk for Life was incredibly moving,” added Noeline Lagache, Agency Support at Spring Hotels. “Many of us have been touched by cancer in some way, and walking side by side as a team made the experience unforgettable.”

After the walk, the team gathered at Spring Surfest Pro on the beach next to the H10 Las Palmeras to enjoy a celebratory drink and reflect on the shared experience, camaraderie, and collective impact of the day.

The 20th anniversary Walk for Life, presented by the Carrera por la Vida Foundation in collaboration with the Arona and Adeje councils, featured commemorative T-shirts, prizes, and raffles, attracting both residents and visitors to take part in the iconic “Pink Tide” in support of breast cancer awareness.
