Paradores and World Heritage Cities

Spain has a lot of bragging rights when it comes to stunning properties and unique culture. The Spanish Tourist Office in Dublin last night gave a presentation showing elegance and sophistication in the fitting surrounds of Dublin’s Stephen’s Green Club. With a great turnout from the Irish Travel Trade, Laura Pena (Director Spanish TO Dublin) warmly welcomed us and Her Excellency Maria Teresa Lizaranzu Perinat reiterated those sentiments and expressed delight at Spain’s unique heritage.

Juan Jose Gonzalez (Sales Director Paradores) gave an insight into these very special properties and described how many ancient convents, monasteries and castles have been reinvented and refurbished to provide upmarket holiday destinations with emphasis on gastronomy and historical significance. Barbara Garcia Aguirre (Paradores International Area) broadened that appeal and advised the oftentimes unique locations and importance of Paradores (which were once the preserve of the wealthy) to the adventurous traveller. Dotted throughout Spain, Paradores are indeed quite special.

Antonia Olivares (Mayor of the city of Ubeda) proudly presented the many UNESCO World Heritage cities that Spain accommodates. Fabulous cities with unique cultural diversity, marvellous locations and bursting with history, Spain offers it all. Cities with life and cities with soul, Spain is extremely privileged to have so many.

Viva Espana!
