Travelbiz Meets Boston in Dublin’s Hawksmoor

Travelbiz sampled a true taste of Boston last night as Ita Hendrick caught up with Tony Lane, Executive Director of Woodstock Communications and Meet Boston’s representative in Ireland, following her recent visit to the city. The event, hosted in the stunning Hawksmoor Dublin, also welcomed Stacy Thornton, Director of Leisure Sales with Meet Boston, along with key trade partners from across Ireland.

Guests were treated to a warm Boston-style welcome with cocktails and fresh oysters, followed by an unforgettable feast—every cut of steak imaginable, comforting mac & cheese, and rich beef-dripping chips. And the desserts? Simply outstanding!

Tony opened the evening by thanking the trade and introducing Stacy and Dave.

Dave, representing public relations for Meet Boston, spoke passionately about the city’s unique spirit:

“Boston is always very independent—has been for 400 years, especially in the last 200. Despite what we hear about the States, you all know this… this is Boston.”

He showcased a short video highlighting Boston’s 23 neighbourhoods and Cambridge, emphasising the city’s diversity, creativity and authenticity.

What’s New in Boston?

Boston has plenty of exciting developments on the horizon:

World Cup 2026 – Anticipation is building ahead of the December 5th draw, and they’re hopeful Boston will be part of it.

Boston Frostival – A brand-new winter festival launching this year, celebrating the charm of a cosy Boston winter. Running February 6–28, Frostival will feature fire pits, cocktail bars, a ferris wheel, curling, drone shows from November through December, and a full activation in Copley Square.

Femme Fête Wine Festival – Part of Frostival, this new festival celebrates women winemakers from around the world. Curated by Boston wine entrepreneur Hayley Fortier, it promises to be a highlight of the winter season.

Michelin Guide Arrives in Boston – For the first time, Boston will join the Northeast Michelin Guide alongside Philadelphia. On November 18, the city will learn which restaurants will earn Bib Gourmands, recommendations and Michelin stars—an exciting milestone for Boston’s culinary scene.

Irish Visitors Love Boston

Ireland consistently ranks in Boston’s top 10 international markets, having fully rebounded and even surpassed pre-pandemic levels. Around 65,000 Irish travellers visit Boston every year—proof of the strong and enduring connection between our two destinations.

A brilliant night celebrating all things Boston, its energy, its innovation, and its deep ties to Ireland.
