Travelbiz Connects with Jo Robinson, Commercial Director of Spring Hotels

Travelbiz had the pleasure of catching up with Jo Robinson, Commercial Director at Spring Hotels, to talk about what truly sets this Tenerife-based hotel group apart — and why their ethos, “Tenerife at Heart,” runs much deeper than a slogan.

“Our ethos and culture are something we’re incredibly proud of,” says Jo. “Being based here on the island means we’re always close to our guests and partners. We can react quickly, solve problems personally, and ensure every detail reflects the spirit of Tenerife. We genuinely have Tenerife at heart.”

That spirit is felt across every aspect of Spring Hotels’ operations — from supporting local businesses and sourcing ingredients from nearby producers to designing guest experiences that celebrate the island’s vibrant culture and community.

“That is very much who we are,” Jo explains. “And it’s the message we want to share through our three hotels today — and any we open in the future.”

Her connection to Tenerife is unmistakable. With 16 years at Spring Hotels, Jo’s passion for both the brand and the island shines through — professional, determined, and full of heart.

The big news for early 2026 is the complete refurbishment of The Cleopatra Palace, which will be transformed into a five-star-plus property. The ambitious eight-month project will elevate the guest experience while staying true to the brand’s authentic local identity.

In addition, Spring Hotels continues to invest in its people and sustainability. Two new properties near the airport are being converted into staff accommodation, supporting team members who join the group and reinforcing Spring’s commitment to a strong, community-driven culture.

“Everything feels like it’s moving in the right direction,” Jo reflects — and it’s clear that the heart of Tenerife beats strongly within the Spring Hotels family.
