SunExpress Launches New In-Flight Menu Blending European and Turkish Flavours

#Traveltradetogether

SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, is elevating its in-flight dining with a new menu celebrating the rich culinary ties between Europe and Türkiye. Designed using passenger feedback, the refreshed menu blends classic European cuisine and traditional Turkish dishes — bringing cultural connection to every bite.

The new menu, which is available on SunExpress’ flights from Dublin and Cork, combines traditional and modern cuisine, offering everything from light afternoon tea with selected cakes to hearty, warm meals.

For the first time, all menus now include a non-alcoholic drink as standard alongside a starter, a main course and a dessert. Prices start from €9.99 for the menus, with hot dishes available from €12.99.

Meals can be pre-ordered online via the SunExpress website or via travel agents up to 36 hours before departure.

One item new to the menu is the Celebration Cake. Served in a gift box with a carry handle, it is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions in the sky.

Liane Wagner, Manager Cabin Experience & Inflight Retail at SunExpress, said: “With our new menu, we are taking the culinary experience on board to a whole new level. It combines the highest quality, varied diversity, and the individual wishes of our guests into a harmonious overall concept.

“It was particularly important to us to incorporate the valuable feedback from our passengers into the development process. The result is a menu selection that not only delights the taste buds but also reflects the cultural diversity of our international guests.”

One option on the menu is the Chicken Café de Paris – tender chicken fillets in a buttery herb sauce, served with grilled courgette and bell peppers, combining French elegance with Mediterranean flair.

Vegetarians can enjoy a Turkish Mezze Platter featuring rice, grilled aubergine slices, and lentil balls in tomato sauce. For fans of comfort food, the Macaroni Cheese offers al dente pasta in a creamy cheddar sauce, enhanced with Mediterranean herbs.

Those craving bold, authentic flavours will appreciate the Adana Kebab, spicy minced meat grilled over an open flame, served with bulgur and smoky aubergine purée, a nod to Türkiye’s rich culinary tradition. The Vegan Falafel Dish with jasmine rice, grilled seasonal vegetables, and lemony salads is vibrant, nutritious, and full of natural taste. Younger guests are also well catered for with a child-friendly menu featuring chicken, chips, and fruit yoghurt.

A variety of breakfast options are also available, including pancakes, börek (a savoury pastry) omelettes, fresh vegetables, and seasonal fruits.

SunExpress’ existing buy-on-board range remains available.
