Travel Counsellors Announce Onboarding Dates as Demand for Flexible Careers Grows

#Traveltradetogether

Travel Counsellors Ireland, the premium leisure and corporate travel specialists, has announced its next onboarding dates for new business owners: 1 October, 4 November and 2 December 2025. The training combines online learning with in-person sessions at Travel Counsellors’ HQ in Mahon, Cork.

The first programme on 1 October will be part of the company’s Academy training pathway, designed specifically for people without prior travel industry experience but with the ambition to run their own business and who are passionate about travel. The training equips recruits with the skills, support and cutting-edge technology they need to succeed as independent travel entrepreneurs from day one.

The subsequent onboarding dates are tailored for those already working in the travel sector — travel agents (both leisure and corporate) and tour operators, along with business owners currently running their own travel agencies, who want to grow their business without the burden of administration and high overheads.

Speaking about joining Travel Counsellors six years ago in September 2019, Waterford’s Eleanor Roche said: “Joining through the Academy programme was life-changing for me. I swapped a career in chartered accountancy to follow my passion for travel. I wanted more control over my career and my time, and Travel Counsellors gave me the training, tools and ongoing support I needed to make that transition with confidence. Now, I get to combine flexibility with building a successful business I can be proud of.”

Travel Counsellors Ireland is home to over 85 independent business owners nationwide, and is part of a global team of almost 2,500 Travel Counsellors operating across six countries. Since launching in Ireland in 2005, the company has built its reputation as a leader in premium leisure and corporate travel, with business owners offering highly personalised service backed by the resources of a global brand.

Cathy Burke, Managing Director of Travel Counsellors Ireland, added: “Autumn is often a time when people stop and reflect. With children back to school and routines re-established, many start thinking about their future and whether their career is giving them the flexibility, fulfilment and financial reward they want.

“At Travel Counsellors, we offer people the chance to be their own boss, with the backing of world-class training, technology and support. It’s a model that combines independence with reassurance, and it continues to attract those who are committed and want to take control of their careers. Our business owners are highly skilled travel professionals building long-term, sustainable careers. Eleanor is a great example of what the Academy can deliver. Since completing her training six years ago, she has built a thriving business and is one of our top-performing TCs.”

The benefits of becoming a Travel Counsellor include running your own business with the freedom to choose your hours, clients and lifestyle; the ability to work flexibly and remotely, blending family commitments with professional success; and uncapped earnings, with income directly linked to effort and growth. There is also full access to Travel Counsellors’ global support network, marketing resources, and award-winning technology.

The upcoming onboarding dates represent the final opportunity in 2025 for new recruits to join the business ahead of the busy January booking season.
