460,000 passengers set to pass through Dublin Airport over busy Easter weekend

#Traveltradetogether

Around 460,000 passengers are set to travel through Dublin Airport over the coming Easter bank holiday weekend, including around 232,000 departing passengers.

Passengers departing from Dublin Airport over the busy Easter weekend are being reminded to arrive in plenty of time ahead of their flight.

Passengers are also advised to heed the airport’s standard travel advice of arriving at the airport two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul flight.

Those travelling this weekend will be able to enjoy the new and improved food and drink outlets in the airport, including Pret A Manger in Terminal 1, which opened its doors today.

The addition of Pret comes hot on the heels of the recent opening of the new Arthur Guinness Bar and the revamped Garden Terrace in Terminal 1 and the new bigger and better Butlers Café in Terminal 2.

According to Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager, at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport: “Easter is always a busy weekend at Dublin Airport as people and families avail of the long bank holiday weekend to head overseas on city breaks, cultural trips and to reunite with loved ones all over the world. This weekend will be no different with upwards of 110,000 passengers set to pass through the airport every day between Friday and Monday. We’ll also be seeing lots of tourists coming to Ireland to enjoy the Easter break.

“The Dublin Airport team is ready to welcome everyone travelling over the coming days and we’d encourage all departing passengers to set themselves up for a smooth start to their trip by getting to the airport in plenty of time and preparing in advance for security screening. Our security times are consistently quick, with a processing time of under 20 minutes the norm when going through our terminals. By following our travel advice and getting to the airport in good time, not only will passengers be able to cope with any unexpected mishaps or delays, but they will also give themselves time to enjoy all that’s on offer in the terminals, from great food and drink options and duty-free shopping, to a bit of plane-spotting or the free kids’ play areas that are located at all departure gates. We look forward to welcoming everyone travelling over the coming days,” said McQueen.
