Riviera Travel Expands Operations in Ireland with Search for a New Country Manager

#Traveltradetogether

Company steps up efforts to establish itself as a key player in the Irish market.

Riviera Travel, the UK’s leading river cruise operator, is intensifying its focus on the Irish market. It plans to recruit a Country Manager to uptick sales in Ireland. The move marks a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy, as it aims to mirror the success achieved in the UK and strengthen its presence within the Irish travel industry.

In addition to the recruitment of the Country Manager, Riviera Travel is proud to highlight its dedicated trade team based out of the UK, which will continue to provide crucial support to travel agents in Ireland. Leading this effort alongside the new Country Manager will be Vicky Billing, Head of Trade and Partnerships who will be the face of Riviera Travel in the Irish market and the direct report for the new role. Vicky will work closely with the travel trade to develop meaningful relationships, ensuring that Riviera Travel’s brand becomes synonymous with unforgettable river cruising experiences.

“Riviera Travel has enjoyed great success in the UK, and we are excited to replicate this achievement in Ireland, especially as we are one of few businesses where agents can easily book online,” said Vicky Billing Head of Trade and Partnerships at Riviera Travel. “Ireland is a market we believe has significant growth potential for our river cruising division especially with our great flights out of Dublin, and hiring a dedicated trade team will allow us to work directly with the travel trade to ensure Riviera is front of mind.”

The company has seen an increased demand for its river cruises and is eager to develop long-lasting partnerships with the Irish travel trade. By focusing on building strong local relationships and providing tailored support, Riviera Travel aims to enhance its brand visibility and reputation in Ireland, ultimately becoming the go-to choice for discerning travellers seeking unforgettable river cruising adventures.

The recruitment of the Country Manager will be pivotal, while Vicky Billing’s leadership and dedication to offering localised expertise—supported by planned trips in May and July—will ensure a smooth and supportive experience for the travel trade. Together, they will focus on boosting brand and product awareness, driving sales growth, and strengthening relationships within the industry.

The company’s flagship river cruises, which span a variety of European rivers including the Danube, Rhine, and Seine, offer high end experiences paired with curated excursions and outstanding onboard amenities.
