DTH Travel Taps into Slow Travel Trend with Exclusive New Vintage Train Journey

#Traveltradetogether

On sale now for the maiden voyage in November 2025.

Leading Asia DMC, DTH Travel, is excited to announce the introduction of an exclusive new product: The Blue Jasmine, a 9-day luxury train journey through Thailand aboard a historic, one-of-a-kind vintage train. This brand new experience, set to embark on its maiden voyage on 16th November 2025 is on sale from this week for the UK travel trade to book, offering operators and agents the chance to sell a truly unique way to explore Thailand.

The train, a distinct blue locomotive gifted by the Japanese government to the State Railway Company of Thailand, is the only train of its kind.  With exclusive use granted to DTH Travel, this product is unlike anything else in the market.

The itinerary begins in Bangkok and winds its way through some of Thailand’s most enchanting destinations, including Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, Sukhothai, and Chiang Mai. This carefully curated journey highlights the contrast between Thailand’s urban and ancient cities, serene countryside and majestic mountains, offering guests an intimate view of the country’s diverse landscapes and rich culture.

Guests will enjoy an array of immersive and locally inspired experiences, including:

  • Accommodation in boutique and heritage properties, including former schoolhouses, offering a blend of comfort and a genuine connection to local history.
  • Dining in unique locations, from riverside villas and farm-to-table restaurants to traditional local eateries and charming river cruise boats.
  • Unparalleled excursions such as an exclusive picnic atop a Chiang Mai mountain peak overlooking Myanmar.

The train accommodates up to 37 guests in classic and premium carriages, with customisable arrangements for connecting rooms and single supplements. Each carriage is serviced by a dedicated butler, ensuring personalised attention throughout the journey. Guests can relax in carriages designed for dining and socialising, including a bar wagon where they can sip cocktails while soaking in Thailand’s scenic beauty.

DTH Travel’s exclusive train journey aligns perfectly with key travel trends in the UK market such as the demand for slow travel itineraries, luxury and exclusive experiences and authentic and community tourism.  This launch also coincides with 2025 being the 200 year anniversary of train travel.

“Our new ‘The Blue Jasmine’ tour is incredibly unique, we are the only DMC in Asia to be delivering an experience of this kind; it is unmatched in Thailand. DTH Travel continues to create one of a kind experiences for clients, offering trade partners tours that are truly special. As a business, we continue to develop new tours driven by sustainability, authenticity and community engagement for operators and agents seeking new and exciting tours to sell in 2025 and beyond” said Stefan Bruns – General Manager DTH Travel Thailand.

Trade bookings for the maiden voyage and subsequent departures in 2026 are now on sale.

To support operators and agents, DTH Travel offers a robust toolkit, including marketing materials, detailed itineraries, and training sessions.
