K Club to host Ireland’s biggest art and sculpture event

Ireland’s biggest art and sculpture event is set to arrive at Kildare’s K Club, the closest the event has been to Dublin in its twelve year run.

Art and Soul, featuring works by Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst, will be hosted by Gormleys at The K Club’s luxury hotel from August 11 – September 8, showcasing €8 million worth of works by the biggest names in international and Irish art.

The free event will include a major outdoor exhibition of over 90 large sculptures and installations set throughout the 550-acre grounds of the luxury estate.

And a key feature will be the unveiling of 12 new pieces by Martin Mooney, regarded as one of Ireland’s most accomplished fine art painters.

With over 300 works on display, Art and Soul will be the largest showcase of sculpture in Ireland to date, featuring international artists alongside leading Irish sculptors Patrick O’Reilly, Ian Pollock, Eamonn Ceannt and Bob Quinn.

The hotel’s breathtaking interior will be further embellished with a display of over 100 artworks by some of the world’s best-known artists, including Damien Hirst, Giacinto Bosco, Patrick Rubinstein, Banksy, Keith Haring, and Julian Opie.

“Art and Soul gives art lovers a unique opportunity to view these incredible works of art in the beautiful surroundings of The K Club,” said Oliver Gormley of Gormleys.

“Adults and children will enjoy the event equally, and our previous events in Russborough, Co Wicklow, Castlemartyr resort in Cork and The Culloden Hotel in Belfast attracted over 10,000 visitors.”

The K Club is offering special rates for the duration of the Art and Soul event, starting from €235 per room/night B&B for those who quote Art and Soul when booking.

“The K Club has long been linked to history’s trailblazers so it feels very fitting that this historic hotel should now be host to such an incredible array of stunning works from some of the world’s most talented artists and sculptors,” said Paul Heery, General Manager at The K Club.

“We’re honoured to provide the setting for this must-visit event and look forward to welcoming guests old and new, who want to celebrate this event.”

During the event, there will be a programme of artists’ talks and daily guided tours.

Art and Soul will be open to the public daily from 11am–7pm.
