Culture & Heritage
Saudi culture is as rich as it is diverse. Visit the Kingdom’s many mosques and traditional markets to experience a rhythm of life that has little changed over the centuries. Since the days of antiquity, Saudi has occupied a pivotal position at the crossroads of Asia, Africa and Europe. Today, there are more than 11,000 archaeological sites throughout the Kingdom, telling the story of the civilizations that lived over the years. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proud to have five UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Al Ahsa Oasis, Al-Hijr Archaeological Site (Hegra), Al-Turaif District in Diriyah, Historic Jeddah and rock art in the Hail region.
And, for a taste of modern Saudi, don’t miss the urban districts and entertainment centres where people meet to shop, dine or just spend time with friends. From traditional dances and handicrafts to gleaming skyscrapers and thriving cities, Saudi is a destination in which history and modernity are inextricably linked and endlessly beguiling.

A COVID-safe destination
|
|
The health and safety of our visitors, residents and citizens is our top priority at STA. We continue to work closely with the Ministry of Health, which has put in place comprehensive protocols for establishments to provide visitors and their families with a safe experience, which are aligned with the guidelines recommended by the WTTC.
Free healthcare is provided to anyone in Saudi Arabia (citizens and visitors alike) affected by COVID-19. Tracking and testing apps have been introduced to help people assess their health and manage any quarantine requirements.

Visiting the Kingdom is easier than ever with Saudi’s e-Visa program
|
|
Saudi opened its doors and hearts to the world of leisure tourism in September 2019 with the launch of its tourism e-visa service. And before the global ban on international travel in response to the coronavirus pandemic, it was the fastest growing tourist destination in the world, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Economic Impact Report.
Quick facts:
The Saudi e-Visa process is 100% digital.
It is a multiple-entry visa valid for a year, allowing tourists to stay for up to 90 days per visit, and up to 180 days per year.
Tourists from 49 eligible countries can apply for a tourist visa online through the fast and easy-to-use e-Visa portal ahead of their trip, or upon arrival in Saudi Arabia through visa kiosks at immigration.
Tourists from other countries should apply for a consulate visa through Saudi embassies and consulates abroad.
Visitors from any country can gain a tourism visa-on-arrival if they have an activated and valid US, UK or Schengen visa and are travelling with a Saudi national airline (Saudia, Flynas or Flydeal).
Tourism visas cost SAR 440 plus VAT and are inclusive of mandatory health insurance.
