Dreamliner makes debut for Air Canada in Ireland

The B787-9 Dreamliner will commence service on the Dublin Toronto route from 29th March next year. Featuring 3 cabins, Signature, Premium Economy and Economy class the switch to the Dreamliner shows the investment in the Irish product and demonstrates the increasing demand for Air Canada’s services from Ireland. Customers love the Dreamliner, whose revolutionary design improves the on-board air quality, which, combined with other features such as Air Canada’s next generation cabin, mood lighting and other amenities, mitigates jet lag. As a result, customers arrive better rested to hit the ground running for either business or pleasure.   In addition to switching the Dublin -Toronto route to a Dreamliner operation Air Canada will also operate 3 months (July-September) of the Dublin - Montreal service on the Dreamliner.

The time difference with Canada means that for Irish travel agencies and customers many Air Canada features in GDS systems and online will be unavailable (booking, seat reservations, ticketing etc) until after lunch on 19th November. Online check-in will be available. Air Canada is urging all travel agencies to clear any schedule changes, queued itineraries etc by 16th November to facilitate the changeover. Post cutover agencies will notice some changes.  The Air Canada vendor locator/PNR/Booking reference will change for existing bookings and Amadeus agencies will notice that it matches their Amadeus locator. In the weeks and months following cutover a host of new features will appear for booking Air Canada and make the booking and booking management experience for agencies and direct customers a lot more user friendly.
