SATOA Trade workshop in Dublin
10th September 2017 - 11:30am
Shane Cullen (TravelBiz.ie) and thirty trade and tour operator representatives attended SATOA’s Trade Workshop at the Morgan Hotel in Dublin. This was in partnership with hotel groups, tour operators and tourist boards which made presentations to the audience while they enjoyed a four-course meal. The key points highlighted were the very broad choice of holidays on offer from safari excursions to witness the “Big 5” (leopard, lion, rhino, elephant and buffalo), to swimming with great white sharks, adventure sports and some of the best bungee jumping in the world. It has stunning beaches and some of the world’s finest natural sights such as Victoria Falls and Table Mountain. It also has the great benefit of having minimal jet lag with only a 2-3 hour time difference to Ireland.
With such a huge range of activities and, of course, some of the best wine tasting routes in the world, it is definitely a destination you can visit time and time again. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya also offer exceptional value when it comes to eating out so it is not just for the once in a lifetime trips or honeymoons.
Off the coast of Africa, it is worth reminding ourselves of the exquisite islands in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives and Mauritius for holidaymakers who wish to truly relax on spectacular island resorts.
Tessa Bott (Chairman and Events Organiser of SATOA) shared with Travelbiz that they are delighted with the significant level of interest from the Irish market and are keen to build on the success to date with more frequent visits to Ireland on the agenda.
