Another activity packed day during our press Fam trip to Cyprus included a visit to the  pink flamingo nesting place at  Voroklini Lake, a natural wetland which is a haven for more than 190 species of birds. It is part of the Natura 2000 EU wide network of protected areas with the aim of assuring the survival of Europe’s most valuable and threatened species and habitats. Next it was time for a cooking demonstration of local specialities followed by a basking weaving workshop. Then it was on to the Cyherbia Botanical Park where we were surprised to be greeted by an Irish accent. Brigid Hill works here and gave us an excellent guided tour – although she didn’t tell us how to find our way out of the massive maze. Anyway we had an amazing time there!
