Croatian Capital Direct From Dublin
5th April 2018 - 4:34pm
Croatia Airlines will commence direct flights from Dublin to Zagreb this year, with a twice-weekly service to operate from 3rd May until 25th October. To mark the occasion, Croatia Airlines and Zagreb Tourist Board hosted an elegant event at 25 Fitzwilliam Place. Both the Ambassador of Croatia to Ireland, Mr Ivan Mašina and Marija Pejčinović Burić, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia as well as members of the trade and media marked the occasion with Croatian wine and canapés from the region.
Irma McHardy (Croatia Airlines) gave the trade a quick rundown of the new twice-weekly direct services starting this summer. The service will operate on a Thursday to Sunday with return fares starting from as little as €189 return including taxes. Jasenka Mandzuka (Zagreb Tourist Office) highlighted some of the stunning sites located in the Croatian capital. Zagreb is now one of the best value city breaks in the EU with plenty to see and do: the architecture, historical arts and lush green parks; street music, local cafes, bars and restaurants; museums, theatres, galleries, authentic markets, excellent shopping and a surprisingly buzzing nightlife. Beyond the city, there is easy access to Croatia's famous coast. Given my love of music, Croatia's very own version of Electric Picnic peaked my interest and takes place in June with the INmusic Festival. With a lineup including Queens of the Stone Age, St Vincent, Portugal the Man, Interpol and David Byrne, to name a few. For just under €60 for a three-day ticket, it is exceptional value. Combined with a growing coffee culture and craft beers and flights taking less than 3 hours, I'm there!
