Ethiopian Airlines - Sales Representative - Maternity Cover with a possibility of extension

Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION

Handling group bookings through telephone, letters, and messages, and provides correct and up-to-date flight information.

Analysis and evaluation of travel needs and revenue potential of prospects and travel agencies within his/her assigned location/territory/market segment; Collects and compiles market information from in house and external data Sources such as BSP, PAXIS and Daily Flight Performance; Closely works with Corporate Accounts and travel Agencies assigned to him/her to make sure that their travel needs are met satisfactorily. Closely works with travel Agencies assigned to him/her to make sure that of Ethiopian services are well promoted and its fares are Competitive. Reports market activities of competitors.

 

PERSONALLY PERFORMED RESPONSIBILITIES

1.            Analysis and evaluate the travel needs and revenue potential of prospects within Ireland and Northern Ireland.

2.            Collect and compiles market information from BSP as well as other Internal and External data sources regularly and analyse performance of travel agencies within Ireland and Northern Ireland with a view to recommends and implements corrective action as well as maintain competitiveness within the market place.

3.            Closely works with Corporate Accounts and major clients ensuring that their travel needs are met satisfactorily and annual revenue targets are meet.

4.            Closely works with travel Agencies to make sure that ETHIOPIAN services are well promoted and its fares are competitive.

5.            Reports market activities of competitors.

6.            Carry out sales calls to prospects to solicit business and to attain sales objectives.

7.            Ensures that all potential sources of revenue are provided with the necessary information about ETHIOPIAN services and its competitive advantages.

8.            Recommends areas where advertising and promotional support is required to achieve sales objectives.

9.            Plans and prepares territorial call patterns for solicitation of business.

10.          Submits daily call reports, weekly competitor and fare analysis, monthly internal and data source reports and other special reports as requested.

11.          Assists important customers in travel plans and in their arrival and departure processes.

12.          Recommends special market fares when appropriate.

13.          Provides sales leads to other ETHIOPIAN Area Offices and Cargo Marketing.

14.          Follows-up travel needs of accounts assigned to him/her.

15.          Entertains customers and Ethiopian guests as deemed necessary and in co-ordination with your Area Manager.

16.          Prepares individual file for major accounts and maintains periodical evaluation to determine the status and profile of the customer.

17.          Handles Passenger and reservations if needed.

18.          Classifies the type of customers according to their business nature.

19.          Participates in sales promotion efforts and advertising in co-ordination with other companies whenever necessary.

20.          Presents recommendations and suggestions for appropriate action regarding the appointment or cancellation of commission sales agents.

21.          Participates in important trade fairs and exhibitions.

22.          Represents the department in internal and external projects established task forces and meetings.

23.          Maintains competency on the basis of continued education and training to satisfy required technical competency for the position.

24.          Participates in coaching the Sales Support as well as working closely to ensure high level of productivity is achieved by the department.

 

To succeed in this role applicant must possess most or all of the following skills:

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma/Certificate in Sales, or relevant field

Minimum 2 years sales experience at a supervisory role ideally in Airlines or travel agencies

Excellent working knowledge of Sabre or Similar GDS system

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Flexible and able to work shift hours and weekends.

Must possess proven track record of consistently and successfully attaining sales goals

Excellent relationship building skills

Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude and customer focused

Excellent attendance performance level

Full Irish drivers license and own car.
