THE OPPORTUNITY

Greenlife Tours LTD is a Tour Operator specialised in activity holidays on the Camino de Santiago, Activity holidays in Ireland and other hiking routes worldwide. Founded in 2011, we are now the world leader for the Camino de Santiago. Every year over 10,000 clients travel with us worldwide.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Dublin 8 to head our Finance function and drive the implementation of financial criteria for commercial decision-making. The role will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Greenlife Tours, for all regulatory issues the role will be reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

 

THE PERSON

You are an ambitious and energetic team player who will challenge and influence others within the organisation. You will use facts to impact commercial decision-making and support growth and profitability agendas by providing key financial data to the management team.

You are a highly organised, accountable, goal-orientated and hands-on financial manager with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to plan and organise a finance department in an SME environment. The ideal candidate will make decisions soundly and timely and facilitate the growth of his/her team by encouraging the team to grow professionally.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THIS ROLE

Managing the Accounting Process.

Together with the Finance team, you will produce management and statutory accounts, P&L, cash flow and ad hoc reports to strict timeframes and oversee all accounting functions. This includes all accounts payables and receivables processes. Over time you will streamline our accounting processes and distribute and delegate more and more tasks within the Finance team. The Team and you will be handling and recording all banking transactions as well as overseeing the staff payroll.

 

Management Information Systems

You will be generating accurate and timely financial reports as well as detailed sales reporting. In these reports, you and the team will ensure that the management team have full visibility of company performance data, forecasts, P&L & budgets. You will be setting up standard reporting and controlling on profitability of product lines and markets. Together with the Finance Team you will be creating analysis-based financial models, strategies, plans, budgets and forecasts, allowing for clear decisions and actions to achieve growth and profit targets.

 

Regulation

As Financial Controller, you will ensure that Greenlife Tours will be meeting regulatory requirements in relation to all payroll-related issues, all tax-related issues, as well as overseeing the preparation of accounts and preparation of the auditing process.

 

HR and Office Management

You will be handling all HR administration issues together with the team on behalf of the company. In this role, you will be the initial interface with employees for any HR administration-related issues, as well as with our HR outsourcing provider. You and the Finance Team will own the maintenance of our “HR Locker” database. The Finance Team will also handle all office management issues on behalf of Greenlife Tours.

 

Team Management

You will be responsible for all team management issues in relation to the current Accounts and Finance team. It will be your role to define and distribute clear responsibilities and design processes that makes best use of the experience and skillset we currently have in the team. You will be reviewing your team regularly and implement a culture of healthy feedback loops on performance management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The role requires a qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA with proven experience working in financial/monthly reporting with a strong commercial focus, so experience in a similar role is essential

Min 3- 5 years financial controlling expertise working in a real business environment.

Outstanding relationship building skills and an ability to really influence and partner with key people is very important.

A history of delivering high quality management information accurately and consistently on time.

A strong understanding of all functions of accounting and real business operations.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
